You knew it was coming for a while but the holidays were finally the tipping point. All you and your spouse have done for the last two weeks was bicker back and forth, to the point of viciousness. You have had enough. It’s time for a divorce.

Not surprisingly, this is a very common occurrence. With all the excitement and stress that comes with the holidays, the last thing you need to add to the mix is a divorce. But, according to the Huffington Post, January is the most popular time of the year to file for divorce because many couples don’t  want to break up a the family during the holiday season. Meanwhile, during the holiday season, with your heightened emotions and daily stress, it is easy for your unhappy marriage to suddenly become a happy divorce.

So what happens next? Well, as we stated before, a divorce can be either a piece of cake or a tough negotiation process. The thing to remember is to make sure your spouse is on the same page as you. And, if there are children involved, make sure your divorce doesn’t affect their lives too much. And of course, contact us for a free consultation. We will help you any way we can.
