State Laws
After some extensive research into our own state’s statutes, the Law Offices of Anthony Carbone have discovered the following New Jersey laws that may not be as commonly known. Such as:
- Spray paint may not be sold without a posted sign warning juveniles of the penalty for creating graffiti.
- It is illegal to wear a bullet-proof vest while committing a murder.
- Car dealerships are forbidden from opening on Sunday.
- All motorists must honk before passing another car, bicyclist, skater, and even a skateboarder.
- The third Thursday of October is designated as “New Jersey Credit Union Day” and citizens of the state should observe the day with “appropriate activities and programs.”
City Laws
While the state has its own set of unique laws, things get even weirder when certain cities and towns have their own set of rules. We have found a few rules throughout the Garden State that will make you question everything you thought you knew.
- Blairstown – No street-side trees may be planted that “obscure the air.”
- Blairstown – It is illegal to throw ashes on the sidewalk.
- Haddon – It is illegal to use the Crystal Lake Pool without first obtaining a bathing tag from the Township Clerk.
- Haddon – No one may annoy someone of the opposite sex.
- Mount Laurel – Climbing trees is prohibited in all city parks.
- Mount Laurel – It is illegal to get drunk and annoy others in your house.
