Does My Personal Injury Settlement Include Medical Bills?

Law Offices of Anthony Carbone

So that’s going to depend on what kind of a personal injury case you have, right? So if you have a car accident case, under New Jersey law, your car insurance will be responsible for your medical bills. You’re going to be responsible for a co-pay and a deductible, but that’s just a small amount. The majority of the medical bills will be paid by your car insurance.

At the end of your case, what we normally do is whatever deductible and/or co-pay that you owe to the medical providers, we pay that out of the settlement. So when your case settles, we will know how much we have to pay to the medical providers and what medical providers are owed money before we disperse any money to the client.
