If you are being sued for a car accident case, your insurance coverage on that vehicle will cover you for any damage that is – not for any damage, but for whatever purchase, whatever policy coverage that you purchased for coverage.
So for example, in New Jersey, you can buy minimal coverage of $15,000. So if you’re sued for an injury that you caused somebody from a car accident, your insurance company is going to cover you for up to $15,000.
Likewise, your insurance carrier will hire a lawyer to defend you in connection with that case. so you don’t have to spend money for an attorney and your insurance carrier will cover you for the amount of coverage that you bought for the policy that you have.
The difference in New Jersey becomes when you buy car insurance and you don’t buy any coverage for any injury that you caused to someone then you can become personally responsible for any medical bills and/or pain and suffering that you caused somebody if you don’t have any coverage for that.
