With winter weather comes bad road conditions. And bad conditions can lead to car accidents. But you don’t need bad weather for car accidents. They can occur anytime, anywhere, on any day. But there ways to avoid accidents.
According to Drivers.com, the top cause for a car accident is distracted driving (i.e. texting, eating, talking on the phone, etc.), followed by speeding and then drunk driving. Preventive measures for all three of these accidents are pretty simple:
- When driving, keep your entire attention on the road
- Don’t go over the speed the limit
- And of course, don’t drive while intoxicated
But what if it’s an act of nature? Let’s say you’re driving to a friend’s house when a tree branch falls in the road in front of you. It was too late to avoid it so you hit it with your car. How are you able to avoid that? Of course you can’t avoid every accident on the road. But as long as you stay alert and obey the rules of the road, you should be able to avoid most of them.
