fourth of july safety tips anthony carboneWe’re fortunate this year to have the Fourth of July land on Monday, which means a three-day weekend for many of us. With nice weather and hot temperatures expected this weekend, chances are you have some great plans in store for you and you family. Whether you’re planning go on a road trip, do some barbecuing with the neighbors, or heading to the local pool or beach, the first thing you should be concerned about is the safety of everyone involved in your plans.

Here’s a couple of safety tips to keep in mind this weekend:

  • Taking in a fireworks show? It wouldn’t be Independence Day without one! But remember, New Jersey is one of the states that has a ban on fireworks. This means unless you’re a professional, it is illegal to possess fireworks for private use (Read more about how the law came about). So no going over to Pennsylvania and buying firecrackers!
  • Heading to the beach? We’ve mentioned some safety tips before in a previous blog. The main thing to remember is obey the lifeguard’s instructions, only swim in the designated swimming area, and keep alert on any changes in the weather.
  • Planning to use the grill this weekend? Great! But be careful – every year, hundreds are injured while using their grills. Just remember to always supervise the grill when in use, never grill indoors, keep the grill out in the open, and never add charcoal starter fluid when the coals have already been ignited.
  • Going for a road trip? We’ve written several blogs in the past about safely driving during a holiday. So stay alert, don’t speed, and be careful on those highways!

Have a safe and wonderful holiday, everyone! And remember, if you get into legal trouble, you know what to do. Call the Law Offices of Anthony Carbone today for a free consultation.
